Tonight at Fortress DVS has the potential to be another very special one in this new chapter of Rotherham United history.

I wish I could have been in the dressing room at half time at Don Valley yesterday. Whatever was said it certainly did the trick after an awful first half which threatened to completely derail all thoughts of finally eradicating that points deficit.

Is their anything more exciting in football than a cup draw? After our win against Southampton the attention of all millers fans were drawn to the 4th round draw on Saturday morning.

Mark Robins reckoned that we ought to have been six goals to the good at half time, yet we almost lost a game that was there for the taking.

Another fantastic evening of Carling Cup action and another Championship scalp and the Don Valley Stadium is just starting to grow on me.

Southampton? A place on the South Coast…it’s logical (though one of my work colleagues actually thought Northampton was near Brighton!!!). You therefore have to give credit to, and warmly welcome the hardy fans from St Mary’s who have made the trip up to DV tonight on the off chance of getting a stiff breeze up their collective Khyber’s!

For the first time this season the Millers faithful were able to chant this at the opposition and if we can carry on in this vein we'll be able to chant it a lot more before the end of this campaign.

Thinking about this week's visitors immediately brings to mind the question of administration. 17 points deduction was a very bitter pill for all Rotherham fans to swallow. Try and imagine a 30 point deduction........it beggars belief.

One defeat and already those doubting Thomas’ (not you Mark) are predicting that the bubble’s burst! A goal in the last minute of injury time against our mother of all bogey sides and without our two regular centre-backs hardly constitutes disaster. Tomorrow we have a chance to get back on track and silence those critics creeping out of the woodwork.
been told by a good source that we will be on -15 points at the start of the season
