For those who didn't attend the match, or did and didn't buy a programme, or did and did buy a programme, enclosed are the notes as written. The notes reflect my personal opinion and are not necessarily those of the Trust or other Trust Board members.

We’ve never lost to Macclesfield in the league and yesterday’s win maintained that run. Results are more important than performances and it was a case of three more vital points towards our goal of avoiding relegation from the Football League.

Three defeats on the bounce and people are once again talking about relegation, funny how expectations change so quickly amongst the football fan fraternity!

A visit to Blundell Park on a freezing cold day is hardly my idea of fun especially when we are comprehensively beaten. Saturday was definitely not a fun day for me and to rub it in I happen to work in the area!

A sixteen-point gap should be enough to ensure league survival with less than half the season to go. Having seen off a fairly limited Bournemouth side at Don Valley at the weekend and with Luton Town also losing it would appear that our main aim of surviving despite another point’s deficit is virtually assured.

I suppose that many of us have developed something of a bond with the fans of this weekend’s opponents AFC Bournemouth.

Some of the 3,300 hardy souls assembled at freezing cold Don Valley thought that we deserved our draw against yesterday’s opponents Dagenham & Redbridge, others thought we were lucky, opinion was split on this first fixture of 2009.
been told by a good source that we will be on -15 points at the start of the season
